BACK TO WOLLYHOOD

We are BACK TO WOLLYHOOD, a theater and performance collective based in Zurich and Bern. Since February 2018 we have been realizing projects in different line-ups. The content, form and structure of our evenings strongly address the real spatial conditions as well as the specific social or even ecological functions of a particular place. Our creative process does not start with a ready-made piece or fabric that we bring to the space, but we develop our projects starting from the spaces to be played and a basic idea. By playfully alienating the places and their function, we enable alternative perceptions of our surroundings.

Our spectators are not distanced viewers of a classical theater performance, but rather actively enter the space and thus the theme in groups or as individuals. What interests us in this artistic orientation is the playful fusion of fiction and reality, staging and improvisation, realism and absurdity. In terms of content, our focus is on the pressing social and ecological issues of our time.
