Dolci Vite Produktionen – Schwarzenbach: Le Dolci Vite

A woman sets out to find out what her life would have been like if she – the daughter of an Italian migrant worker at Ciba-Geigy – had had to leave Basel at the age of six to live in Assisi. SCHWARZENBACH – LE DOLCI VITE is a partly biographical, partly hypothetical-fictional play about the question of foreign and self-determination based on a dark chapter in Swiss history: James Schwarzenbach’s “Überfremdungsinitiative”. We accompany the protagonist to Assisi, where she has interviewed very different women in order to construct various possible life stories from their humorous, surprising and also painful accounts. And again and again, the question of belonging, identity and development opportunities arises.
