Nele Stuhler – MAUERSCHAU

Nele Stuhler was born on the day of Building the Berlin Wall in the year of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall existed 28 years. In 2017 she hasn’t been existing for 28 years. 2017 Nele will be as old as the Berlin Wall had been. Nele’s life is as it is because the Berlin Wall doesn’t exist anymore. But her life is also as it is because the Berlin Wall existed. Which influence does walls and borders, their current existence but also traces of their previous existence on our lives?

Nele Stuhler was born in Berlin. Her first theatre works were developed at P14, the young people’s theatre of Volksbühne. She studied at the Institute for Applies Theatre Studies  in Gießen (Germany) and Dramatic Writing in Graz (Austria). She is a founding member of the theatre collectives Leien des Alltags and FUX. Her latest works with FUX in the season 2016/2017 have been produced by Schauspielhaus Wien and coproduced by Münchner Kammerspielen, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt am Main, Theaterdiscounter Berlin and Kaserne Basel. Nele’s play Fische received the Munich Prize for Playwriting in German.
