Ariane Koch & Sarina Scheidegger – ROSA & LOUISE – A Feminist Manifest
The multi-lingual performance Rosa & Louise – A Feminist Manifest is a melting pot and demonstration of feminist discourse – from Basel to Alexandria and back again: a game of musical chairs between discrimination and appropriation, alienation and reconciliation. Subjective tales, songs and quotes are used to illustrate the ambivalence, the fleetingness, the (un-)translatability and the intercultural similarities. The format of this manifest, which has been continuously rewritten since 2013 by the artists Ariane Koch and Sarina Scheidegger, is now being expanded and performed in collaboration with the Egyptian performers Sherin Hegazy and Salma Said and the Swiss performer Ana Castaño Almendral.
A production by GKW in co-production with Kaserne Basel (CH).
Rosa & Louise – A Feminist Manifesto was shown at the 5th edition of Theater Is A Must Forum in Alexandria in 2018, curated by Adel Abdelwahab.
