Ariane Andereggen

ARIANE ANDEREGGEN *1969 in Aigle / Switzerland. Studied acting at the HKB University of the Arts in Bern and media art MAS at the HfG University of Design in Karlsruhe. She works as an extradisciplinary theatre artist in areas such as performance and video-audio installation, drawing and text. Collaborations for the independent scene, as well as with municipal theatres in Switzerland and Germany. She currently lives in Basel and Hamburg.

 

She has worked as a performer / author of her own texts for projects by Marcel Schwald and Antje Schupp, among others, and has appeared in classical plays directed by Michael Simon or Victor Bodo and in productions by Tim Zulauf. In 2012 she received the Atelier Mondial grant in Cairo as a video artist on the subject of water and revolution. From 2013-2015 she was a member of the ensemble at Theater Basel. Since 2015 she has been developing post-dramatic formats between activism / brechtsches Lehrstück and audible lecture performances on complex topics such as commodity trading together with the musician, author & activist Ted Gaier / Die goldenen Zitronen. Since 2016 she has been working in various fields of activity for the intervention theatre Schwabbinggrad Ballet in Hamburg and Berlin. In 2017 they received a research grant from the city of Basel for their research project “Forced Imagination / The Actor is present” and conducted interviews with 29 actors and performance artists in various European cities about living, working and power relations in their everyday lives. In 2019 her new music video DAS WAR UNSERE BRD / Die goldenen Zitronen 2020 was nominated for the MuVi Award of the Short Film Festival Oberhausen. She and Ted Gaier are currently working together on an artistic video essay about CLASSICAL RATIOS AT BODENSEE, where Andereggen grew up.

 

She also works regularly as a lecturer for ZhdK in Zurich. A project together with Ted Gaier on decolonisation in international cultural exchange is planned for 2021 as part of the COINCIDENCIA / Pro Helvetia programme in Colombia. In 2019 she performed in DIE KRÄNKUNGEN DER MENSCHHEIT by Anta Helena Recke, in cooperation with the Münchner Kammerspiele, HAU Hebbel Theater am Ufer, Mousonturm and Kampnagel Hamburg, supported by the Fond der Darstellenden Künste and, as one of the 10 best productions, invited to the Berliner Theater Treffen 2020. In autumn 2020 her solo performance AGE ON STAGE will have its premiere in the Kaserne Basel.
